Hello Everyone! I hope you got a great start to your week! I wanted to leave a reminder about the importance of taking care of yourself! Germs have really been out to play these past few weeks, and a few of our pre-service teachers have become victim to strep throat, sinus infections and stomach viruses. As I try to dodge becoming sick before Thanksgiving break, I thought I would leave you with a few tips on how to take care of yourself during your field experience! Let’s finish out these last few weeks strong and healthy!

How to keep yourself from getting sick when you are working at a school full of sick kids:

  1. Wash your hands. Then wash them again.
  2. Buy orange juice. Keep that immune system going strong with a little vitamin C!
  3. Don’t touch your face.
  4. If you feel like you are beginning to get sick, treat it immediately! The sooner you catch it, the better off you will be.
  5. Don’t lay in your bed without changing your clothes/and or showering! Remember that you have been at a school all day where children have been putting their germy hands all over you and your clothes. You laying in your bed will just give these germs an opportunity to spread even more!
